Marriage Traditions in Persuasion by Jane Austen Essay
England has always had a rich history of interesting cultural traditions but arguably none as prevalent as marriage. Marriage, the union of two people with emotional ideals and expectations, are brought on by many different factors that include: for love, for money, for climbing social status, escapism, survival, etc. In Jane Austenââ¬â¢s novels, she focuses on the importance of marriage in her world because she wanted to emphasize how marriage is the most important life event of a woman as this would determine her place in society. Persuasion shows readers good and bad examples of marriage: the amiable Crofts and other couples such as Sir Walter Lady Elliot and the Smiths. Jane Austen uses the Crofts to support the importance of marriageâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦The Navy plays a large role in their relationship as well. Even when the Admiral has to go to sea, his wife always travels with him. Mrs. Croft shares many similarities with other Navy men such as loyalty, constant companionship with her husband, and upholding the respect and equality that greatly influences her marriage. Jane Austen, who writes Anne to be a character that readers like and trust, portrays Anne envying the happy marriage between the Crofts as an ideal she wishes she and Wentworth could have had. Jane Austen outlines her perfect marriage through the Croftsââ¬â¢ value balanced power and regard for each other. Jane Austen admires the Crofts as a model couple for quality marriages in her society. The couple represents an equal union between two people in love that Austen argues is too rare in the Regency era. Anne and Austen feel similarly on many points as the story is told through Anneââ¬â¢s eyes. On a visit to see the Crofts in her old house, Admiral Croft tells Anne ââ¬Å"Now this must be very bad for you to be coming and finding us here. (118). Admiral Croft is the only person who sympathizes with Anne losing her home and being forced to see strangers live there. His co mpassion and sympathy reflect the happy state of his life and subsequently, his marriage. He later tells Anne that he has taken steps to make Kellynch Hall more practical and mentioning his wife has helped him move some furniture. Project Management Contemporary Organization for Managing
Question: Discuss about the Project Management for Contemporary Organization for Managing. Answer: Project management has become a necessity of the contemporary organization for managing their external as well as internal projects. Huge cost of the inputs and scarcity of resources have forced companies to employ scientific tools and techniques for strategically monitoring projects. Effective project management techniques ensure completion of the projects within time and budget constraints by efficiently utilizing all the available resources. Over time project management techniques have evolved considerably reflecting the changes in the technology and business environment. The course has provided me an in-depth insight into the contemporary project management techniques necessary for successful completion of a project. This module has helped me to get accustomed with the emerging trend and patterns in the area of project management. The tools and techniques of Project management have strong practical implication in all the projects undertaken by the companies. In my opinion, project management techniques are finding greater acceptance due to growing emphasis for timely completion of the work assignments. The projects are becoming complex due to advancement in technology, changing requirements of the consumer and demand for new products and services. If not managed efficiently, a project can cause severe loss for the company and can even lead to winding up of business. Therefore a project is required to be managed scientifically for optimal utilization of resources. I have learned a lot of things from the module of Project Management which will help me to oversee project assigned to me in my work life. I have come to know that a detailed and comprehensive plan is necessary to formulate before initia ting any particular project. I will try to employ the principles of project management in all work assignments to ensure their completion before schedule. There are five phases of a project Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Control and Closure. These steps are followed strictly in executing the large projects of an organization. The learning from this course has changed my perspective of looking into a project. I came to know that a project should be viewed in terms of time-bound deliverables. This course has taught me that project can be external or internal to an organization. A project should be divided into a number of sub-projects for effectively and efficiently managing all necessary aspects related to it. Again all tasks and activities comprising a particular project need to be organized and managed employing the principles of project management. I will conduct an extensive preliminary analysis of the project in question for assessing the feasibility in terms of profit and loss. If I find from the analysis that undertaking a particular project is not profitable for the company, I will recommend planning team to further investigate in detail to reach a final conclusion. If the investigation reveals that the project has potential to gain dividends, then I can proceed with finalizing the resources requir ed for pursuing the project. I also learned that managing closure is also crucial for any project. It helps in smoothly allocating the resource from one project to another project. In my opinion time is an important factor which is often ignored in planning and execution compared to cost. Time should also be considered as important as cost because the delay in a project ultimately adds to the cost. Modern project management tools and techniques like CPM and PERT can be used for setting starting and finishing timelines of a project. These techniques are also used for monitoring activities and tasks during execution and calculating any deficit. This is one aspect which is going to be very useful in keeping a close tab on all activities and tasks in my future work assignment. I think using these techniques will greatly reduce the risk up to a great extent. Apart from it, this will contribute in ensuring effective and efficient utilization of resources. I can manage multiple projects simultaneously by applying principles of project management in my projects. Project management is the most sought after management principle owing to complex nature of modern day projects. It not only ensures the timely completion of the project, but it also leads to smooth termination of a project. Modern project management tools and techniques use statistical and mathematical principles for scientifically monitoring and controlling all activities and the tasks comprising a project. The learning from this course has immensely helped me in developing skills and abilities that will guide me in managing projects in future. All techniques taught to me are very much relevant in relation to my future work assignment.

Population & Environment A Critical Commentary
Question: Discuss about thePopulation Environment for a Critical Commentary. Answer: Introrduction: Environment and population are complementary to each other. The very existence of human life is based on environment. Environment has acted as the pulpit based on which human life has slowly and steadily come into being. Right from the days of the early civilisation man has found the favorable environment to lead its life obviously with the huge support from the environment and hence it could be said that life and environment has harmonising relationship (Morrissey, 2012). Environment became the major criteria for life and hence if the environment starts going against its will nothing could stop devastation and catastrophe and this is what has given rise to a new concept of Environmental Refugees. In the recent past there has been significant research on this subject and there are two key studies which have delved deep about this aspect (Hartmann, 2010). In his study Black, (2001) mainly studied the existence of environmental refugees and tried to find out whether it really has existence or it is just a conceptual attribute brought up for the discussion. On the other hand another study by Myers, (2005) critically discussed the emerging issue of environmental refugees and discussed the security aspect of the concept taking this as a real problem in the world. So apparently the second author tries to delve deep into the aspect of security for the environmentally displaced people. Giving the definition of the Environmental refugees both the authors were outright and this is the biggest similarity between their studies on the other hand the biggest disparity that remains is Black (2001) assumes that environmental refugee is a threat whereas Myers (2005) has clearly mentioned that this is reality (Morrissey, 2012). In the first study the author mainly discusses the concept of environmental refugee but doesnt try to discuss the related con cepts like security or safety of these displaced people whereas on the other hand second author provides effective statistical evidence of the total number of environmental refugees and tries to highlight the key problems that these environmentally displaced people are facing and why which makes the study clear and also helps to understand the main focus of the study (Hartmann, 2010). Both the studies have a dedicate column for favorable policies for the policy makers to use insights from there and develop strong policies for the environmental refugees and this stands for a similarity but the second study by Myers (2005) tries to highlight the environmental crises and security threats but Black (2001) doesnt attempt anything like that. Overall it could be concluded that the second study by Myers (2005) is much more convincing and persuasive as it doesnt stand on assumption and provides critical evidence which helps to prove the hypothesis of the study whereas the study by Black (200 1) is based on possible inferences and hence lacks empirical evidence which gives the second the study an upper hand (Morrissey, 2012).
